Cornhole:  An Interesting Game

Feel like trying out a new outdoor throwing game? Cornhole is the absolute hit. But you might not know much about this game.

A blind hole. Yes, this is another name of this game. You aren’t clear what it’s about? You throw small bags into a hole. Anyway, this is a great outdoor game in the garden, park, on the beach or at the campsite. So, if you are looking for an alternative to other popular throwing games like ladder golf, Kubb, you should try it!

Cornhole – The Facts At A Glance

Cornhole is one of the most popular outdoor games in the US.

Players: 2-4

Accessories: 2 gates with blind hole and 2 x 4 small bags

Age: from about six years, a good game for families so!

Game Principle: The two goals, which look like slightly slanted boards with a hole in them, are placed opposite each other at a distance of 8 m. When playing with children, you should possibly reduce the distance.

The teams are also facing each other, and the players are now aiming at the goal or board of the opponent with their little bags. More in the rules!

Cornhole Equipment

At Cornhole, the gates look like slanted boards with a hole in them.

Admittedly, in comparison to other games of chance (like the one mentioned above), the equipment is considerably more expensive and less practical to transport, which is due to the two required gates or boards. No problem for those who travel by car.

The size of the boards can vary; in America, 120 cm x 60 cm is standard. Traditionally, the small throw bags are filled with dried corn or beans, but in recent purchase editions, mostly plastic granules are used.

The Rules Of The Game

Before the start of each game, a lot (eg, coin toss) will be decided on the throwing zone and the opening right. The winner of the draw may choose:

  1. a) Either in which throwing zone he would like to stand
  2. b) or who opens the first round

Depending on the loser, he may then determine on;

  1. a) who opens the first frame
  2. b) in which casting zone he would like to stand

The throwing zones are delimited areas to the left and right of the cornholes, separated by the imaginary line connecting the two boards. In practice, this means that throwing zone A means for one team to stand to the left of the board, for the other to the right and throwing zone B vice versa.

For the opening right is valid, that after the first round always the team may start, who could win the previous series. This also applies to all sentences. In the event of a draw, the opening right remains with the team, which had also opened in the last round.
