Adonis Williams Journey to New Opportunities

Brooks School senior wing Adonis Williams took to his twitter account on Tuesday night to announce his commitment to American International College.

AIC is a Division II school location in Springfield, Massachusetts that competes in the prestigious Northeast-10 Conference.

Williams is coming off a big senior season in which he helped lead Brooks to their second consecutive NEPSAC Class B championship and was named All New England third team in the process. Prior to that, he had a breakout spring and summer on the grassroots circuit starring with the Boston Warriors.

A powerful wing with a strong body, Williams creates match-up problems with his consistent three-point shooting range, open floor athleticism, and ability to overpower less physical defenders.

My name is Adonis Williams, I am 6’4 and weigh 201lbs. I am from Spring Valley, New York. I have been playing basketball since I was 7 years old. At a young age I understood the game very well, I was not only able to get myself better but also get my teammates better. After playing AAU all my life I realize how competitive it is when it comes to playing basketball at the collegiate level. During my 7th grade year in middle school I was introduced into the Junior boarding school world. I applied to many different boarding schools and I received an acceptance letter from Cardigan Mountain School. I attended this school for two years. During eighth grade we had an successful basketball season we were undefeated in our league. Also in 8th grade I decided to try out a new sport. That new sport was lacrosse, it was difficult to catch the ball at first but after a few weeks of practice I looked like a pro. During my 9th grade at Cardigan Mountain I broke my leg towards the end of the basketball season. As I recovered from my injury I learned how to overcome adversity and I feel since that injury, I’ve been a more positive individual throughout my daily life. As I graduated from Cardigan as a 9th grader I attended Brooks School in North Andover Massachusetts and was able to maintain a 3.0 GPA. I then went on to attend American International College located in Springfield , Massachusetts. I played on the Men’s Basketball team for 2 years averaging 11 Points , 5 Rebounds and 2 assist . I then transferred and now I attend Adelphi University and play on the men’s basketball team and I am currently majoring in Exercise Science.
