FIFA has no known law in soccer which states that goalkeepers must wear protective Goalkeeper Gloves. Yet seeing goalies playing with bare hands is more than rare in the modern game. The modern keeper glove is reputed to help reduce impact and provide protection for the hands and wrist, but most of all to have a better grip on the ball. Regarding the protection side, there is no solid evidence to support it helps prevent injuries and injuries still occur despite most keepers wearing professional goalkeeper gloves. Because of the lack of evidence, it is unclear how big a problem hand injuries are amongst goalkeepers. Although due to the roughness of the position, any injury preventing the goalie from making theirs the soccer ball will require some down time. Although the goalie glove does not make the keeper, for years it has been a vital part of their all keepers kit bag. Gloves help to further enhance the already advanced goalkeeper. Youth goalkeepers feel certainly more confident wearing gloves and will train and play better because of the protection and the feeling. Although, poor ball control is basically the same with gloves or in bare hands. In conclusion I would say that you can have the best gloves in the world, but if you’re not well trained on making contact with the ball, the glove will not do it for you. In all Goalkeepers, either they are pro’s or starters the glove at the very most will help you at the best save possible, 10% at the very most. The remaining 90% is the goalie.
