Mallorca island has long been a popular training destination for professional teams, but there are roads and paths suitable for all wishes and demands. Here we present four of the most beautiful routes for Cycling holidays with very different levels of difficulty. Stay with us and enhance your wish to explore Mallorca.
By land to the Randa Monastery
A medium difficulty tour of the interior of the island with some ups and downs, which is a real dream in winter when the almond trees bloom. You can start from the northeast end of S’Arenal and continue your journey along the Llucmajor cliff through different urbanizations. The sea views are fantastic. Through green meadows, a street marked as a bicycle path leads to Llucmajor. Here everything is wonderfully rural and unspoilt. The Tramuntana tour
Whoever wants to do the classic of the coast through the Serra de Tramuntana in more than 100 kilometers, should pedal very well. The tour begins in Port d’Andratx and from there it goes north to Coll de sa Gramola, through a mountainous area that has been hit by one of the worst forest fires in recent years and is currently being reforested again. 30 kilometers uphill and downhill to the coastal town of Banyalbufar, which translates to “little winter garden by the sea”. The sea views are as fascinating as the town itself. From here follows a spectacular route with views of the sea to the lemon and orange valleys of Sóller. But those who have enough passion, can go up to the Lluc monastery. You can witness sharp curves of the highest mountain in Mallorca: Puig Major. The beauty of the mountainous landscape makes up for all the efforts.
Exploring the Southwest
A popular and rather quiet 50-kilometer route. You can start inland from Santa Ponca. This route offers everything: The beautiful interior of the island, almond blossoms and sea views. Through the quiet Cami de Son Pillo street, you can go from the west exit of Calvia along the national road towards Es Capdella. After passing this romantic town, you should follow a short ascent to Coll d n’Esteve and then descend a wooded and winding road to Andratx.
Bike tour by the sea in Palma
This is an easy route, but very beautiful and varied, suitable even for children. For this excursion you can rent a bicycle at a good price. Exploring the bay of Palma with the bike is the most fun and excites everyone. The path passes through the attractive bays and small ports of Cala Gamba, El Molinar and Portixol and reaches the Paseo Marítimo, passing the Cathedral. Then continue between a palm path on the right and small fishing boats, sailboats and super yachts on the left to Club de Mar, where the path ends or is made back.
