1. Wilt Chamberlain
2. Michael Jordan
3. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
4. Kobe Bryant
5. Karl Malone
6. Bill Russell(best defensive all around player)
7. Magic Johnson
8. Elgin Baylor
9. Shaquille O?Neal
10. Kevin Durant
11. Jerry West
12. Julius Irving
13. Lebum James.
14. Moses Malone
6 through 12 can vary in any order. James is locked at 13 or worse. Just because he can dunk and score layups doesn’t make him considered GOAT material. He can’t shoot FTs, he has just average handling, and he shoots too many long 3 pointers that are well below 40%
Chamberlain, Kareem and MJ scored 95% of their points on two pointers and free throws.
-Chamberlain scored the most points than any player in their first 12 seasons. He played 14. He scored 100 points in one single game and 78 in another. He was a poor FT shooter and he still scored 30.0ppg in 14 seasons over 31,000 points and averaged 50.4 ppg an entire season. He scored over 40ppg 3 times and averaged over 36ppg in his rookie season. Doing all that while only shooting 50% of his free throws. He would have averaged more PPG for his career than MJ if he had made just 10% more of his free throws. Chamberlain is 1 of 2 players to average over 20 rebounds for an entire career(22.9RPG). He averaged over 27 rebounds in a single season, an nba record. Only Bill Russell came in second in rebounds behind Chamberlain. Wilt is also the only scoring champion to also have 1 league leader in assists in his career. He has over 50 all time records, while the next best guy Jordan and Kareem, have 3 all time records. This guy is definitely the GOAT if it?s not the next guy on the list.
-Michael Jordan averaged a NBA current record of 30.1ppg for his career. Just a slight bit higher than Chamberlain(30.0ppg). MJ scored 30+ppg from 86-96 and the seasons he didn’t he was above 28ppg. If he never retired in 98 he would never had that stint with the Wizards and would have no doubt remained over 26ppg as he played his final 2 seasons. Even after 3 years 40 year old MJ returned for 2 seasons and still scored 24 and 20ppg in the last two seasons and he was injured both seasons.
Jordan won 6 rings and two 3peats.
-Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has the most points in NBA history at 37,379. He averaged over 30ppg 4 times including a 34.8 ppg in his 3rd season. He played 20 seasons and would have scored a lot more points if he didn’t have other all star players on his teams.
-Karl Malone has scored the 2nd most total points in NBA history. He was the most durable player the NBA had ever seen. He averaged over 22ppg in all but 2 seasons and over 25 in all but 4 seasons. He played over 80 of 82 games in every season but 1, his final season. The only games he missed in his career were disqualifications and family emergencies. From 85 to 2003 he only missed 10 games. Even the lockout season of 99? would have resulted in all but 1 game played.
-Kobe Bryant, was Jordan-esq and had almost all of MJ?s moves. If Kobe didn’t shoot as many 3s as he did in his career, his scoring and field goal percentage would be just slightly less than MJ?s. He scored 81 points and scored 60+ points six times. That?s second to Wilt Chamberlain. He also had close to thirty 50+ games. He won 5 of 7 NBA Finals, including the only 3peat team besides the Bulls and Celtics and the 1950?s Minneapolis Lakers 3peat team. His teammates cost him the other 2. He was the most dominate player since Jordan retired. He was also the only player to ever score 50+ against MJ with MJ defending his position. He also played through several severe season ending injuries early in his career. If he didn’t rupture his Achilles in his 16th season, he was on pace to beat Kareem Abdul Jabbar?s scoring record of 39,397pts.
-Baylor and West were the most dominate duo in the first 30 years of the NBA. They shot high percentages and had high scoring averages for their careers.
-Shaq, was the most dominate big man to play since Kareem retired in 89. He would have well over 30,000-35,000 points if he didn’t miss so many games and made just 20% more of his Free Throws. He is also the heaviest player in NBA history to dominate with the speed he had as a 7 foot 1 man.
-Kevin Durant has 2 championships in 5 tries and one of those Finals he played 11 minutes. He has a higher scoring average than anyone since MJ and Allen Iverson retired. He?s also the most skilled 7 footer who plays like a MJ or Kobe like guard. He?s also the most efficient player in field goal percentage to boast a 27+ppg career scoring average post 2000.
-Julius Irving and Moses Malone and Magic were the kings of Basketball in the 80s along with Kareem. Those 3 guys got their teams to the finals multiple times.
Bill Russell is the second best rebounder in NBA history. He is the only other player other than Wilt Chamberlain to average over 20 rebounds a game for an entire career. He wasn’t as dominate on offense but he still scored near 20,000 points as a 3rd scoring option for the Boston Celtics. He has the most NBA Rings(11) in NBA history. His size and defense ranks him in the top 7 of all time. He would be number 3rd all time if he had just scored a little more. He was on the super team Celtics of the 1960s winning 11 of 13 finals appearances. Wilt Chamberlain was his only rival who could out play him.
-Last and least, Lebum James. With the worst generations in human history. They all grew up watching James. They never saw any of those other guys and think he?s the best or some sort of GOAT. The shittiest generation in human history has no clue which great players played before their time. With only 3 rings, he is 3-9 in the NBA Finals. With the exception of Jerry West and Elgin Baylor, nobody else has failed so much in the NBA finals. No way is he better than current player Kevin Durant. Also, James is not half the shooter the other players on the list were. James scores through dunks, layups and 3s. He rarely shoots mid range, he?s a bad free throw shooter for someone his size, he always fades away, he has a weak post game, he doesn’t have the great handling skills that MJ, Kobe, Magic, and West had. He shoots these very low percentage 30 footers and makes 10% of them instead of going through his strengths. His basketball IQ when he has the ball is far lower than the 12 other guys on this list. Once he loses his athleticism his ability to score will sharply decline. We?re starting to see that now. Wilt, MJ, Kareem, Bill Russell and Kobe are the GOATs if anyone is to be considered the GOAT. Before you stupid pig headed, rap crap listening punks of the now, young generations watches the reruns of those 12 other guys, you have no right to consider Lebum James a GOAT. He?s by far the most overrated player in NBA history. He?s also the most immature player among every player on this list to go along with the most immature generation in human history. None of the players above him every told the media that they individually were the best ever. In 2018, James told the media that he was the best player ever. He was the first player in NBA history to make such ludicrous comments. Nobody agreed with him and the media highly criticized him for it. How dare you shut out the great Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Kobe Bryant. Lebum is almost 35 years old yet he acts like a teenager. That?s this rap crap, saggy clothed generation for you. Anyway, Wilt and MJ are the only GOAT?s and will never be compared.
